I got Splotch a little sister today, to make up for losing Smudge last
Sunday.
Splotch is mostly white with a dark-gray hood down to her shoulders, a
little spot on her back, and a few dark bands on her tail. The as-yet
unnamed rat is also hooded, but hers is black and reaches halfway down her
ribs. She also has a wide black stripe down her back.
The newbie is very curious and feisty; within a few minutes she was
exploring every corner of the cage. It took Splotch several days of working
herself up to it.
They've taken to each other very well in the last 5 hours. The only
worrisome thing is that the new one has what looks like an old bite mark on
her tail. Once she's had some time to get adjusted to her new home, I'll be
checking her tail over closely.
