I have a 13 year old Congo gray that for the most part very
affectionate. In the last 5 months or so it has become aggressive with
my son and occasionally with me. Mostly hand biting but not just a nip
but bits down and holds it. I have at times be pecked it I reach up to
scratch my neck/head/or shoulder as it perceives this as an attempt to
grab it by the hand. When we were on vacation it got very aggressive
with my son so much so he could not let it out of the cage. I have
been bitten very hard on the shoulder and hand recently and cannot
figure out what is bringing this on. Anyone have any ideas.

Get yourself some good books on behaviour, also take it to an avian vet for
a check up to make sure it is not unwell.
As regards the books, I can reccommend, 'guide to companion parrot
behaviour'. Amazon sell it. But if any of mine was to suddenly start
displayig odd behaviour for no reason, I would be making a vet appointment.
