Hey, Dave, my Yellow Nape loves ribs, too, all I have to do is hold
one up and his eyes dilate like crazy. OTOH, my Cockatoo only likes
chicken bones (my husband calls him "The Cannibal"). My African Grey
does not like meat--or junkfood--at all, but she will eat virtually
ANY fruit and vegetable...and she is the only one fo the three that I
am having ANY luck at all with my attempted conversion to
pellets/granules. The yellow Nape opuches them away, and the Cockatoo,
never one to mince words, takes his foot and lifts them of the
underlying seed and ***plonk***, drops them on the floor. Then he
laughs.

I seems that Avery isn't among the smartest of creatures. He often
teases Felix, landing near him, toddling around, trying to provoke him
into pouncing. He'll wait 'til Felix pounces, and just as Felix's nose
touches his tail feathers, he's off.

Fortunately, Felix is fairly old, now, and not nearly as quick as he
was in his younger days, and not nearly as quick as Avery is.

I think Felix is also smart enough to understand that Avery is amember
of the family, and not Felix's next meal. Nevertheless, if Felix could
be entirely trusted with Avery, then he wouldn't be much of a cat.

We do only let Avery out of his cage when there's at least one of us
around to supervise them.

They seem to have an understanding that Avery rules the upper half of
the apartment, while Felix rules the lower half, and each usually sticks
to his own half. But sometimes, Avery just can't resist intruding into
Felix's half and teasing him.

Kim I had been working with cracker for about a month or two, and hubby was
the one that got it on crackers head. I was jealous. I think it had a lot
to do with papa putting it on his head. I can play with crackers toys, but
when papa does it he gets mad. Guess he thought if papa can do it than I
can.

Mamabird those were some wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing. Wicka is
just so adorable. Have you gotten any of those pictures in any of the bird
magazine? If not you should.

Totally hysterical! Now that is a bird with a lot of personality! I
love it!

Come to think of it, though, my female CAG Charlie likes to stick her
head inside the bells that hang from toys and wear them like a hat
sometimes--I wonder if I could coax her to wear a hat?

She's an Aruensis red-sided eclectus. How do you like that multi-color beak?
A half-sister has the same "racing stripes". Don't know why the beak never
turned black. She's almost five years old now.

That's a great picture! It looks very peaceful there. Which one of your birds
was holding the camera? How do you keep them from destroying your electronic
equipment? Hope those guns aren't loaded. :)
BTW, what do you do at an observatory, besides observe? It's probably a dumb
question, but I'm serious.

Thanks for sharing, your budgie looks like mine.. Only difference is mine
is a female. Poor girl is named Romeo. Thought about changing her name to
Juliet, but don't think after two years she will answer to it. She came
named that way.

Great pic's!! The "destroyer" reminds me of the time My Tiel got hold of a
couple library books. I was not paying attention to what he was up to while
I was sitting with him. Next thing I knew he had done a number on the covers
of two books. I laughed it off and took them back and asked the library "how
much to buy these"? Got strange looks, and lots of questions, "your bird did
this"? "He's a what"? "What does it look like"? LOL

You could always just call her Romy (ever see Michelle & Romy's High School
Reunion) I just love this little bugger budgie to pieces. Talk about
personality!

Tim
LOL, that's not exactly what I meant. His first flight was at the pet
store. The store where I bought him clipped his wings after his first
flight so he couldn't fly away. I took him home on Jan 3, 03.

Tim
Yes, its a Kings Cage, Napoleon Model #137.
http://www.kingscages.com/137.htm . I love it. Very high quality. Sullivan
is not quite the size of a large macaw. Red Sided Eclectus weigh anywhere
from 425-525gms and are around 13-13.5" long.

Yes they are feathers, just very fine ones. They always have that "just
groomed" look. I just gave Sullivan a shower. He loves to be dried with the
blow dryer. He holds his wings straight out. Its so cute!

Oi! Never mind me then... it'll have to wait until I have some time to take
