Budgie breeding question - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page

Hello,

my female budgie layed 5 eggs over 10 days and after 19 days of
incubating the first egg started to hatch, about 5 hours later the
hatchling emerged from it's egg.

However, the female seems to be shuffling frantically every time the
hatchling starts making that wheezing call or moving, and I'm kinda
worried about this shuffling behaviour.

Is there anything to worry about? or is this normal budgie behavior.

thanks,
Ashur

never mind,
she seems to be doing very well considering it's her first time. I
check the crop of the newborn and it seems to be swollen with crop
milk. I guess she was just a little startled by the new hatchling.
