I am located in Phoenix and have 2 blue and golds and a greenwing that I
have adopted. The previous owner said that the blue and golds were bonded,
but I think they need to be separated. They are banded, but I haven't gotten
any information back on what the bands mean. I was told that they were 5 and
8 and for sure that one of them was male. The greenwing is partially
plucked, but getting better every day. I was told that he is 5 also. He is
also banded, but the numbers on the band have faded, so I can't read any of
it. I have pictures if anyone is interested. They all talk and don't scream
very much. They are actually very quiet for macaws. They are just not
getting along with my other macaws, so I think it is best if I find them a
good home, where there aren't so many birds - or where there are birds that
they will get along with better. If anyone is interested, please email me at
soccer8s@cox.net. I am asking $900 for each of the blue and golds and $1200
for the greenwing. I do have one cage available, once I sell the blue and
golds. They are currently in the same cage. It is pretty good size. I can
get a picture of it also. If anyone is willing to take more than one bird, I
would give you a deal on 2 or all 3.

I can't help but wonder if these "adopted" birds were given to you, and now you
are trying to sell them???? Something doesn't feel right.

Either that or they are more bird(s) than she bargained for. ;-)
Personally, I have neither the time nor property for a pair of Macaws,
and respect those that do! My 'tiel and 'too are quite enough for me thanks.

My household has two B&G's and a scarlet and can say with certainty that
those alone are more than enough pet birds for anyone! We also have 5
smaller parrots. Please don't break up a mated pair as that will make
both birds miserable. They may fight all day if locked in the same cage
but the test is to let them out of the cage in the evening and watch
where they sleep. I'd bet its right next to each other.

Actually, I bought them - trying to get them out of a bad situation. The
people that had them last didn't treat them very well, so I was getting them
out of the bad situation that they were in. I have one blue and gold already
and I thought that if they all got along, it would be a lot to handle, but I
could do it. Now that I have realized that they were in a worse situation
than I thought, I am not able to take care of all of them. They are
definately a handful. But, if someone who doesn't currently have a bird and
would have the time to spend one on one with any of them, they would be
great birds. I am quite astonished that someone would think that they were
given to me and now I am trying to sell them. I am not looking to make money
in any way. All I want is for them to have a good and loving home. I don't
want to lose money, but I want what is best for the birds and if I lose
money, then oh well, at least they will have a good and loving home.
Please don't think I am trying to make a buck here. That is absolutely not
true. And, to who wrote about separating a pair, I don't think they are a
pair. They don't sleep next to eachother. They stay as far apart as
possible. If one crosses his/her side of the cage, the other snaps at
him/her. Maybe they are just ready to breed and I should set them up for
breeding, but I am not sure what all I need to do to set them up. If anyone
has any hints on that, I am willing to give it a try.
For those of you who believe me, I am looking for some help and good advice.
And, thank you. Have a great day.
