Because the worm has a component that posts this crap to Usenet
without the infected user knowing it's happening. The problem is
MS crapware that does e-mail and Usenet all in one combined with
an overabundance of gullible people. (I'm trying to be more
charitable than I was yesterday.)
For example... friend of my wife got infected by it and called
me for help. I asked her if she remembered my warning six months
or more ago not to open any unexpected attachments even if they
were from God@Heaven.org. Her reply? "But this one was from
Microsoft!" What can you say in the face of thought processes
like that? Internet "driver's licenses" are looking more like a
good idea every day.
