We just adopted a ferret out of a shelter. She is great. She seams to like
it in our home. BUT, she has stopped
dooking and chortling as she plays. She made a lot of sounds the first week.
Now nothing! The other ferret we has never made any sounds. Anyone have any
clues?
Should I be worried about anything? The vet say's they are both in perfect
health. When I asked about the lack
of sounds now he just shrugged and said who knows.

Probably nothing to be concerned about. She was probably super super
hyper and excited to be in a new home, new place, new friends etc. when
you first got her. Now she's probably settled in a bit more. Ferrets are
usually vocal when they're really *really* excited and/or very young.
-Think of it like a kid going to Disneyland the first time. After having
been there a week they might still love it and never want to leave but
they might not be bouncing off the walls like the very first time they
were there. If she seems otherwise ok and the vet says she's in good
shape too, she's probably just settling in more now. :)
