Keep your eye out for this week's Whoopi -- the new show with Whoopi
Goldberg. According to the TV Guide, the show centers around one of the main
characters being bitten by a ferret. Sound like just what we need.

Hopefully it will turn out that the person deserved to get bitten.

Well, it's Whoopi and it's a comedy, so I wouldn't look at it much
differently than if the animal were a dog or cat. If the show gives it
a light touch it shouldn't be too bad.
You know the old saying... any press is good press.

Regardless, the viewing public won't analyze that aspect of it; they will key
on the "fact" that someone was bitten by a ferret, period. It does more harm
than good.
Is there anything that us ferret lovers can do about it? Letters or a
petition that can be sent to those involved? It's too bad that ferrets can't
sue for defamation of character! (or they probably would).
