WHat do you mean? There are no ferret breeds. There are just ferrets.
Different colours, but still just ferrets. I suggest you do a little
research into ferrets before you get one. Buy ferrets for dummies, or go to
www.ferretcentral.org

Once you've done enough reading (Ferrets for Dummies, by Kim Schilling,
comes to mind) to realize that there *are* no "specific breeds" of ferrets,
your best bet is to go to a local ferret shelter & adopt a ferret who needs
love. Be prepared for them NOT having one that matches your house or
something, though. Because if that's what you're looking for,
well...........

Not really good advice Lin as you know.

There are at least 5 different species of ferret to my knowledge.

1) The "Sleeplikeadeadun" breed is well known for its coma like personality and
not too rare these days

2) The "Eatallyoucaneatintenminutes" is a gluten by trade and has to be kept
seperate from other ferrets

3) The " danceandfliplikeamentalist" is a quite energetic ferret but needs a
lot of attention

4) The "stinkslikea*******" is a ferret with hygene problems or in the Uk a
normal randy hob

5) The "Go-onyacan`thelpbutloveme"
is the cutest of all and very hard to separate from other ferret breeds

So please be careful because a
"stinkslikeagoodandeatallyoucanindeadunmentalist" cross breed is a bugger to
look after

Lin
Well, #3 describes Max really well, & #5 is Ariel to a "T", but I didn't see
Oberon's "breed" mentioned at all:

6 - "Cuterthanhellbutdumberthanaboxofrocks".
