Dipper? - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
Karin, Daffy and Eric
Mickey,

how is Dipper settling in? Have you tried introducing her to Thumper yet?
What does the rest of your family think of her? Is she turning out to be
another ice cream connoisseur? Is she a snuggler?

Just curious - want to hear more!

well karin dipper is very much a snuggler.

the bonding with thumper was not successful. he was an absolute monster to
her. he would walk the perimeter of her cage leaving lots of poops to let
her know this was HIS HOUSE and she was not welcome. dipper's cage was next
to thumper's for about a week when we decided it was too stressful for her.

we moved her upstairs to my daughter's room. she sleeps on my daughter's
bed and will frequently wake her up in the middle of the night by washing my
daughter's face :) my daughter has a window seat that dipper has now
claimed as her own. julie (my daughter) has rearrached dipper's cage so she
can exit from the second shelf thru the back of the cage and hop onto the
window seat.

we have put a baby gate up in the hallway which seperates my bedroom from my
daughter's. morgan and dipper have made nose contact but i don't think they
are ready yet for any serious time together. we shall take a "wait and see"
attitude.

thanks for asking :)

janice, i'm still waiting for beth to come to nj. she was supposed to be
back on home turf over two years ago. the trip was postponed due to
circumstances beyond her control.

beth.....please come and sing the love boat for my bunnies.

Oh, the baby gates. LOL. We have them
up all over the place here. Found some
new ones that I can step over and the
bunnies for some reason won't jump over
them (though I know they can....they must
think they can't jump them for some reason)

I let Bucky and Sasha together for 3
hours, supervised last night.

Bucky was the perfect gentleman and both
took turns grooming each other.

Bucky did not try to hump Sasha at all.

Sasha did nip at Bucky a few times but,
it was a friendly warning nip and not
a hostile bite. (there was some obvious
communcations taking place on that part)

Micky, I think letting them sniff through the
child gates a few months might be the way
to go.

Bucky and Sasha have been set up that way
for about six months now.

I doubled up the gates so they could touch
noses without getting a chunk taken out of
each of their noses, just in case.

I know what thats like Beth. Bunny care, other than letting them out and
chasing them in has become my husbands responsibility. Needless to say, things
are not quite as clean as they are when I am in charge of cleaning. Last week
we had a false alarm where I thought it was time and all I could think about
while leaving the house was that Hershey needed fresh water. He had 2 inches
left in his bottle, but I still worried. I wanted my hubby to fill it, he
wanted me to get to my doctors.

Did I miss a post some time where you mentioned either of them being
spayed or neutered? I thought Bucky wasn't and neither was Sasha...

Hmm

Thanks for the update, Mickey :-)
I had been thinking about you all - it's nice to know that Dipper has her
own little window seat! Interesting that agent Morgan doesn't seem
aggressive - that would be such an unexpected bonding!

Tina. This is my work product and
I am not ready to post to the group
about it.

(But, I will give you a hint. Bucky is
sterile, as stated in previous posts)

Yay Mickey!

I'm so happy to hear about Dipper. It's been really hectic around
here...not much time off. I just spent 3 nights in the woods with
high school freshmen. I can't believe Dipper sleeps with Julie...how
adorable is that! I know exactly what you mean by Dipper licking
baths...she gets out of control and all I could ever do was laugh. I
miss her so much...it makes me feel so happy to know she has found
such a wonderful home. I can't say that enough! Thanks for the
updates and to everyone who cares so much. Say hello to Dipper for me
and rub her cheeks for me too.

Sandra: It's so nice to hear from you. I'm glad things are going well for you
and that you can still stay up to date on what's happening in Dippers life. Hugs
to you.

Anita
Sandra, you made a good choice for a home for Dipper. I hope that good luck
is with you in your new life. It sounds like fun. I know that Dipper is
glad that you rescued her from her old life and took care of her. You made
her life a lot happier and a lot longer, I'm sure.

Anita and Jessie

I feel sad when I read Sandra's posts about missing Dipper.

I sure hope I never have to miss my buns.

(I'd probably be in jail. -- Or it's the thought of not being able to
see them that keeps me more or less straight and narrow!)

Um, I read that post somewhat differently than most, I guess. To me Sandra
sounded very busy and very happy and very much at peace that Dipper has such a
great home.

Honestly, I think that Sandra needs to make a general post "TO ALL" and put the
subject to rest. Not to do so is unfair to Mickey, IMHO.
scGram
I do think Sandra sounds happy and glad that Dipper has such a good home. Still,
I'm sure she misses her at times. When you love someone, you can be happy for
their new life but, at the same time, still miss them. I'm sure she has told
Mickey how she feels. I think they are in touch with each other. I thought it
was nice that she posted again.
