Is there a pattern to the brown and white--like white in sort of a jacket over
his shoulders and white on his nose (Dutch). Or does he have white and brown in
patches all over?

Is "brown and white" the name of a breed? I'm not familiar with it,
but here are a couple links to places with pictures of various kinds
of rabbits.

Well, you really have to go on the general characteristics of body
type more than color. That is, how long the ears are, how big are the
back feet, how long is the face, etc.

Coloring alone isn't enough to define what breed a rabbit is. I have
what I believe to be a Netherland Dwarf, but her coloring is just like
pictures I've seen of several other breeds.

Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable participants here can give you
better guidance.

Are you just curious, or does this matter to you somehow? For example,
are you thinking of showing your rabbit? Just curious.

I wasn't sure about Raul's heritage before I went to some fair exhibits [4-H
pet rabbit projects] and looked carefully at the Dutch rabbits. They're the
same size as my Raul [about 3 1/2-4 pounds max] and the ears and faces are
identical except for the fur distribution. Raul has a smudge of white on
his nose and instead of a cloak of white around his shoulders he has white
shoulder pads. The rest of him is a soft brown, gradually darker as you get
to his tail [which is light brown].

In other words, I have no idea what breed(s) would be akin to your rabbit;
size and shape of the face and ears [as opposed to just their fur coloring]
will be a help. Take a look at a breed book or go to a fair with animal
competitions and compare them.

Cheers, Diva
