dick
hello to all that responded to my e-mail .
back from the vet and things went
fairly well.
he's not dehydrated , his temp is fine ,
and a normal x-ray showed nothing .
the vet said that as long as he is eating
and drinking that i should watch him
for a few days . if he still has a problem
with his poops then we will do a barium
x-ray on monday . he told me to try
laxatone along with the chicken baby
food.
MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU !!!!!!!!!!!
your input was most hopeful .

Glad to hear the good news, Dick. Hope you will keep a close eye to be
sure Woody continues to eat, even if it is small amounts. I'm surprised
your vet didn't just go ahead and do a barium xray since he was doing an
xray - wouldn't have taken but 10 more minutes to put the barium in him and
you could have had a definitive answer right then. Oh well.....just keep an
eye on him. Watch that he is eating, drinking and pooping (count the kibbles
you put in his bowl in the morning, then count again in the evening.
Another thing you might try doing is mixing vaseline with the ferretvite.
Sounds gross, but it's the basic ingredient in hairball lax and will often
move anything that might be lodged in the intestines out if given regularly
for a couple days. I usually give my kids about half a teaspoon 2-3 times a
day for two days and whatever was in them clears out and the poops get big
again, which is a good sign of clear intestines. Skinny poopy are a really
bad sign, meaning partial blockage.

Hope things go well the next few days and he starts perking up for you.

hugs,

Also...if Woody vomits after eating, get him back to the vet. It most
likely is a blockage then. Thin poops, small amounts and vomiting after
eating are some signs of a blockage. I hope it's not, but keep a watch for
these things so you can get him to the vet as needed.
