Make sure your vet does an abdominal xray - could be an intestinal blockage.
Also could be an ulcer or some such irritation of the digestive tract.
Please keep a close eye on him until you can get in to the vet on Thur, & if
you notice *any* changes in his eating/drinking/peeing/pooping habits, or a
change in behavior, call & get him into the vets ASAP. In the meantime,
check the inside of his mouth, for any cuts, loose or broken teeth, etc.

Keep us posted, please!

Ask your vet to do a barium x-ray as well as a normal x-ray. A barium x-ray
is more conclusive if there is a small blockage that may be hidden or
difficult to diagnose on a regular x-ray.

Good luck.

I just wanted to add that the barium xray is a reeeeally good idea if you
even suspect intestinal blockage.

Kylie had one once and it was not nearly as horrible as a human barium xray!
All they did was feed her Hill's A/D with barium mixed in it, which she
readily ate. THen they xrayed her every 15 minutes for an hour, then every
half hour for another two hours I think.

Just wanted to stick that in for anyone who hasn't had a ferret go thru
barium xrays and you're thinking of having to have them fast, then 'how will
they get the barium in the ferret', etc. It really turned out to be a very
simple procedure with very definitive results, which I really liked.

Extra fluids would probably be a good idea too, Dick. You might want to
take some ferretvite and dissolve it in hot water, then when it cools, offer
it to Woody. At least it would get some extra fluids in him. If he seems
really weak, or if you can scruff his neck (pick up the skin and fur from
the back of his neck) and it doesn't snap right back down, then he's
dehydrated and needs sub-cutaneous fluids even to hold him over until your
vet visit tomorrow. Any vet tech can do this for you, but it can mean the
difference between life and death for a ferret because they are so small.
Sometimes a dehydrated ferret will even get a bit of an appetite after he
receives subQ fluids. IT can make a dramatic difference. When Kylie and
Gilbert had ECE I took them to the vet for fluids twice a day until the vet
(not my usual one because we were up north for the summer) finally trusted
me enough to let me do it at home.
