Sanguine
Thaddeus. He came to us just after he'd had an op for hernia, which the
rescue and vet thought he'd been born with. We took him to several
vets, as he had a problem with his zip, they sewed him/glued him...but
he's still my 'flasher'. He's not had any problems. I did think he
might be more prone to infections, but we keep an eye on him and he's
been fine.

Betty, if you are going to bump, please include the original message.
Those of us that use traditional newsreaders would have to manually
search for the original artical.
Thanks
John, and Milo.

I know I'm not John ;o) but I think I know what she's doing - If this group
was being read in something that sorts the most popular/recent threads and
puts them at the top, then she's 'bumping' the thread up the messageboard by
posting to it (leaves all the crap at the bottom - easier to ignore).
Trouble is, as John says, it doesn't work on traditional newsreaders, like
the Outlook Express I use.

Yep - just checked and she's posting through Google, where you ~can~
organise it to 'show most recent post at the top'

If you want the messages purely in order by time, selecte View -> Current View
and turn off "Group Message by Conversation."

Then View -> Sort By and select "Sent" then "Sort Decending." New messages will
appear at the top of the message list.

If you want that to be by thread, leave "Group Messages by Conversation" on and
try View -> Current View -> Hide Read or Ignored Messages. Adjust Sort By as
noted above. This will cause the most recent threads, as indicated by the
date/time of the first message in what is being shown (new ones since the last
time you visited the group) thread, to appear at the top. The "bump" trick
won't work, since it's by the first message in any given thread, but it will
bring up only the ones which have been added to since you last looked.

You hit it Paula! Thanks.
I use Agent, and have it set up so it only shows new messages. Keeps
it much less cluttered. So to retrieve the bump, I have to select "all
messages", then sort back through it.
Not a real biggie, I read all the new messages here every day.
John
