Right on, Betty. All I know about the posters here is what they write.
I've never met any of them and wonder how many of the feuding ones have
actually met each other. Could it be these flame wars are purely a
phenomenon of cyberspace crossed with the innate peculiarity of ferret
owners? Perhaps if you put the feuding family on a desert island for a
month, they would get to know each other personally and could sort out who
they really like and dislike. The whole continuing argument has an air of
unreality. My only interests are the tidbits of invaluable info and
entertaining pics about ferrets. I try to skip over the off topic posts and
"block sender" the worst of the flamers. - CW

Chasw, I think one question everyone has to ask themselves............
does anything I do impact anyone on this board in any manner as far as
their ferrets or money-wise.
I know some of the other people have playdates with their ferrets, they
have adopted ferrets from one another, help one another out in times of
a medical crisis money-wise. I myself have helped out, we have donated
bedding to be auctioned off on Ebay and the funds were donated to the
person in the crisis. As long as someone was getting free bedding, no
one questioned my ADV status, no one was accusing me of anything.
My thing has always been, just leave me alone. I don't bother anyone,
just leave me alone. I am not doing anything that impacts anyone in
any form or fashion, all I want to do is take care of our ferrets, sew,
and other things I enjoy. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE.
No one was present when the situation with Rosie went down, they were
not here, they did not speak with my vet to get the straight scoop on
everything, I gave the straight scoop, Rosie died during the recover
process of her surgery. Doc had put in the last stitch closing her
incision he had backed off on the anesthesia beginning the recovery
phase and her heart stopped. She was still on the vent so that was
keeping oxygen going to her, he kept trying to get her heart going
again but she could not maintain a rhythm and he said after 30 minutes
he knew it was useless she was gone. We had Soda for 6 days, 6 short
days, he had had an infection that had been let go for so long it had
gone systemic and his body was shutting down, that is the reason he
couldn't stand except on a rug or carpet, his little body was so weak,
so destroyed with infection it was slowly dying. Doc and I threw
everything but the kitchen sink at him. We did with both these
ferrets; Soda and Rosie. BUT they decided all by themselves that it
couldn't have possibly been the way I said it was, oh no, they had to
take that and turn it into something else, just like all the lies about
my old cat Scooter. THEY WERE NOT HERE, THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT
HAPPENED, ONLY THE LIES THEY CREATED AND THEY SPREAD THEM EVERYWHERE.
Here is a laundry list for you:
Barb Clay NOT letting people know just days before Ferret Stock that
she had to have 3 ferrets put down for ADV, her shelter and the rest of
her place had been contaminated with ADV. Did she tell anyone or tell
people NOT to bring their ferrets?? NO she didn't. She exposed every
person there AND every ferret that was brought there.
Kim thinking it would be so cute for her husband to hold up a gun
pointing it at someone and naming the pix "iwillkillyourass" and
someone takes the pix. BIG NO NO on that one Kim.
Millie taking on my user name more than once, posting on boards as me,
setting up COUNTLESS message boards named after me in some form or
fashion, setting up boards for nothing except to obsess about me, about
everything I do and trash me.
All of them, starting an ADV campaign against me, telling people my
status was in question and to NOT buy bedding from me. My status has
NEVER been in question, my ferrets have ALL tested positive and then I
refused to scan the paperwork and put it on line. Would you?? Would
anyone?? No one should have to just because they insist on it. It is
not like they are going to buy a piece of bedding.
One of their members, a fellow SlimeSister, I won't mention her name
because she has said she won't post here anymore about me and so far
she has kept her word so I will do the same but she attempted to buy a
piece of my bedding, useing a different name and a differnet PayPal
account thinking I wouldn't catch on. They have all stated
emphatically they would not have a piece of my bedding in their house
and that is fine, so you tell me what this person wanted with a piece
of my bedding and why she was trying to lie about it all.
Going after my friend Sharon just because she and I are friends. They
went as far as going to on-line book sales places and writing scathing
reviews of her book and her book was not even available yet so you tell
me how they could have gotten an advance copy and read it?? LIES
EVERYBIT OF IT LIES AND MORE LIES.
Decide for yourself who is the trouble maker. I keep saying, just
leave me alone. I don't ask anyone for anything except to be left
alone. That should not be too much for any human being to ask of
others.

If you're going to try to trash someone, at least get your facts
straight. Learning to read wouldn't hurt either. What part of the
following (taken from YOUR POST) did you not understand?

Do you know anything at all about ADV testing, or ADV itself for that
matter?? Too cheap to do a United test you say? Read it again. All
three ferrets were tested twice with United and three times with Avecon
(the third time was to disprove operator error). AND all three had
samples sent in to the U of GA. Got any idea how EXPENSIVE the U of GA
tests were??? Do you even know what PCR+ means?
This information was posted on 3 forums well in advance of Ferretstock.
The existence of United CEP positive ferrets was made public knowledge
well in advance of Ferretstock, and well before they were euthanized.
Does that really sound like "keeping it under wraps" to you? How dare
you assume those three precious babies were put to sleep on a whim! No
shelter operator EVER makes that decision, for any reason, without
agonizing over it.
Instead of attempting to tear Barb down, you should be thanking her for
her efforts and offering sympathy for her loss. She left no stone
unturned on those ferrets behalf, and in doing so has proven the Avecon
send-in-the-spit test to be totally unreliable.
Why don't you try putting your time to better use. Here's a thought -
volunteer at a shelter, see what it is all about. You'll be amazed at
how much you don't know.
And to address your new accusations: The shelter was NOT contaminated
with ADV. Barb's protocals are a model of how to prevent the spread of
ANY contagious disease, including ADV. You have no clue of the
quarantine procedures which were in effect.
Also, personal pets are NOT ALLOWED at Ferretstock or any other Rocky's
event. This is a standing rule to prevent any chance of disease being
brought in to the shelter residents. The 'no pets' policy was known by
all who attended.
Wrong again Karen. In fact, I have yet to see one incidence of you
stating anything correctly. You really should do some research.
Now, you think you have done nothing to impact any ferrets or anyone
money-wise? You are trying to shut down a shelter. Do you really NOT
see how that will affect the ferrets? What do you think would happen
to the 300 ferrets that pass thru Rocky's to forever homes each year if
the shelter was not there? You think they will just go to some other
shelter? You're wrong. Shelters nationwide are inundated with
ferrets. No, without Rocky's those ferrets will have few options, none
of them good. Their owners will either set them loose to fend for
themselves in the wild; bring them to Animal Control where they will be
put to sleep; bring them to the vet to be put to sleep; or keep them in
their homes, where they will continue to endure abusive/neglectful
conditions for the remainder of their lives. You claim to care so much
about ferrets, is that what you want to happen? I don't care what
problems you may have with any individual, there is no excuse for
causing widespread harm to ferrets.
Once again, I challenge you to spend your time more wisely. Do some
research. Learn the FACTS about ADV, not the rumors. Volunteer at a
shelter. What you learn just might save a ferrets life, maybe even one
of yours.

Even though I promised to no longer address this person (who's in my
killfile, & the only reason I'm seeing this is cos it was attached to a
reply), I wish to say a couple things, from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
1- I have never, EVER, seen ANYONE bring personal pets to FerretStock or
Oktoberfest. Period. W/ no exception.
2- When you go to Rocky's, you're not even ALLOWED to go into the shelter
buildings UNTIL YOU'VE BEEN SPRAYED DOWN W/ PARVOCIDE & TOLD TO WAIT 10-15
MIN. Even the bottoms of shoes get sprayed. Hands, shirts, pants, socks,
shoes, head, EVERYTHING gets sprayed. The chances of bringing ADV, or even a
friggen *cold*, into that place, is about as likely as sneaking an elephant
into the joint.
So, to the person who continues to drag this crap out & prove what a liar
she is in front of the entire ferret community, I have this to say:
Until you're able to cough up some solid facts about anything, why don't you
just shut the **** up & go away? Everytime you open your trap, you only dig
yourself in deeper. You, as well as your roughly 2 friends, have become the
laughing stock of the ferret community. And I don't even belong to the
boards where all this bull**** is taking place. Is that the kind of
notoriety you want? Congrats - you have it, & it's all of your own making.
I now return the *sane* people in here back to their regular programming.
