SECOND: The following letter has been sent to the appropriate
authorities because neither Karen nor Sharon are able to keep their
mouths SHUT and the 6pm joke is just that - a joke. KAREN will argue
as long as she has someone to argue with. Karen: SHUT UP!!! STOP
BRINGING UP MORE CRAP AND JUST LEAVE...PLEASE JUST LOG OFF AND GO GET A
LIFE; the more you run your mouth, the deeper hole you dig. Haven't you
figured that out yet? SHUT UP AND LOG OFF!!
The following letter has been sent to the appropriate authorities:
To Whom It May Concern:
Several people have been totally trashing the Usenet group
alt.pets.ferrets with their off-topic, x-rated, nasty and now becoming
full of specific threats of full-out bodily harm. As ferret owners,
we hereby protest and beg for you to take action against these people
to allow us to have our group back as a ferret group instead of these
ladies(?) using for their personal vehicle to threaten and humiliate
people.
There are two sides to every disagreement. Here is SIDE A:
The main person involved is named Karen Poehlein has been using email
addresseses: Karen Poehlein-Lee" <lightkeeper@psci.net ,
lighthouseferrets@yahoo.com , pooflingersaretrailortrash@yahoo.com,
and meandthee555@yahoo.com has gone from simple name-calling and
childish behaviors to actual threats on people's lives and just today
was just posting three sentences repeated over and over several hundred
times. She has also been posting thru "iprive.com", which I believe is
an anonymous server, but the IP numbers are Ms Poehlein's. I am
seriously concerned for this person's mental health and feel that with
Columbine and some other instances of people being shunned from a
group, then turning on them, that we are all quite painfully aware that
situations like this can and do turn violent and people get hurt and
killed! These women are making threats and totally disrupting
everyone else's right to talk ferrets on our ferret group, with no
regard whatsoever for the others who have to read the vile, abusive,
nasty x-rated postings....that have turned to all out death threats
this past week. Recent posts refer to "Paying the butcher"
The following is a quote from one knowlegeable computer person who was
trying to find out definitely who the threats were coming from (since
Ms Poehlein had adopted yet another alias) and was directed to Ms
LaCouture: "Note that the IP, 216.49.107.180, does indeed belong to
your buddy Karen Poehlin, and that the e-mail address,
pooflingersaretrailortrash@yahoo.com, is in fact the one she has been
using here to post via the iprive.com IP."
Here are some samples of her writings recently (I think you will
understand my concern if you read them) There are MANY MANY more, this
is just an example pulled at random:

Sharon LaCouture, sharon@americanferrets.com , has also posted quite
vile, nasty and sometimes threatening posts to the alt.pets.ferrets
group. She uses at least one other email address to post from,
sweetpeesassy@hotmail.com. She seems to go back and forth between
desperation, anger and apologetic attitudes. She often posts, then
goes back later and deletes her posts, but those of us who subscribe to
the Google newsgroup digest get them delivered anyway, so even tho she
*thinks* we haven't seen all her nastiness, we have. Ms LaCouture
appears to be very very emotionally unstable, which causes me to fear
for the lives of some of the other people involved in this mess. This
has been going on for over a month now and she seems to be in cahoots
with Ms Poehlein from the time they met up in another ferret group
"American Ferrets" , a Yahoo group. Ms LaCouture supposedly has also
been posting thru an iprive.com email address, along with apparently
planning and discussing 'the plan' (to inflict mental and bodily injury
upon some alt.pets.ferret newsgroup people) on the Yahoo Group named
"American Ferrets". Is there any way that posts to that group can be
monitored to see if illegal activity is being discussed in that group?

HERE IS SIDE B - THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DISAGREEMENT: The main
instigators of the trouble are a lady named Millie Walls, (who
supposedly started all of this a year or more ago when she took Ms
Poehlein's name "lighthouseferrets" and supposedly ruining Ms
Poehlein's online business) who has posted terrible things and tried to
attribute them to Ms Poehlein. Ms Wall changed her email address to
lighthouseferrets@aol.com just to irritate Ms Poehlein (since Ms
Poehlein's business was called Lighthouse Ferrets). She seems to be
taking a much lower profile now that the nasty posts have turned to
threats of bodily harm against her.
Amy Cooper, AmyCooper@charter.net has very recently joined the group
and has been encouraging more violence and nasty exchanges. Here's one
of her recent posts:

Several other ladies (?) named "Joan" jbclague@yahoo.com, "Cinnamon
Sprite" (Karen McCabe) and Lyn Love "Daring_Daisy_Do" ( 6232 Arlington
Blvd. #101
Falls Church, Va 22044) have been stirring the pot with their postings,
making sure something is always kept going. They all belong to an
online ferret group called Pooflingers, which is where Ms Poehlein got
the idea for "pooflingersaretrailortrash@yahoo.com". Each time she
uses that fake email address, it stirs the other side up. If Karen &
Sharon start to let up on the vile posts, one or more of these women
will come back and toss something out that gets everyone going like
children again. When begged to STOP, Ms Poehlein keeps stating that she
will stop when the other side does, then she proceeds to keep poking
them to keep something going. I'm afraid this whole mess has moved FAR
beyond a children's game, tho.....and I'm seriously afraid that someone
is going to get injured or killed if this is allowed to continue. I
haven't seen Ms McCabe, Lyn Love or Joan use profanity or make threats
of any kind and most of what Millie Wall does is just to aggravate Ms
Poehlein and Ms Walls has not been threatening in any way, although
there is a possibility that some of the posts attributed to Ms Poehlein
have actually been written by Ms Walls (at least some people watching
this story unfold believe this is the case).
I seriously believe that Ms Poehlein and Ms LaCouture are having some
mental instability and need psychiatric examinations to determine if
they are truly a threat to society, or if they are just talking and are
truly unable to stop. It appears quite convincing to me that they are
having psychotic episodes at least intermittently. It certainly seems
intimidating and it's very very annoying that they have chosen our
ferret forum to vent their garbage on. Since the participants in the
verbal exchanges live in various states in the U.S.,this letter is
being forwarded to all their local law enforcement officials, however
I'm not sure how one would even file cross-state complaint for
"Threats of Bodily Harm" - would it be through the FBI? Is there any
other governing body that has power to make these folks either back off
their public name calling and threats, or at least take them to
somewhere else?? I am quite willing to personally sign a complaint if
that will help get the wheels rolling in this case. There are quite a
few of us ferret owners who would really appreciate it if they took
their problems OFF our ferret board!! We have already lost too many
members and when people come here seeking help with their ferrets, they
go away after having witnessed all this trash instead of making friends
and learning about ferrets, which is what we're supposed to be about.
Please let me know what, if anything, can to done to get this situation
under control before someone gets hurt or killed. Please don't
hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance in getting
these women the help they so desperately need.

I have been reporting their threats of violence as they were made and
have received nothing more than form letters acknowledging that they
were received. I hope you can get a better response. At least, it's
all on their record.
