Lets talk about ferrets?
How many do you have?
How long have you had them?
What names do you like best and how did you pick the names you have?
Do you prefer jills or hobs and why?
What colours do you have? ..do you have a preferance?
How did you get started?
I have 14...Ozz sadly passed away in December, he was on old boy of
about 11years.
I've had ferrets, since mid march 2002
I like names that express their character, or are a bit different.
I don't prefer male or female..but I do find males slower, more likely
to curl up and sleep on my lap.
I love any colour.
I was looking up books about dog training, when a book about ferrets
fell on the floor. I put it back...but the pic on the cover haunted
me..I couldn't wait to go back to find it again. I did, read everything
I could about them..looked them up on the net. Then went out to buy
two...I came home with two abused, frightend, awful biters...one who
turned out to be pregnant. I call it the deep end.

I have 13 ferrets. I've had ferrets for about 7 years. I've lost five
over the years but they are still in my heart. And always will be.

I have had ferrets since 1998. My niece was going to college and gave me the
privilege of owning Fritter. Since everyone needs company, we got Kosmo out
of the classified ads.
Then it just snowballed after that. LOL Right now I have 7. Most came with
their names - shelter babies.
For one kid that came in without a name, I asked members of the CSI yahoo
groups to name him.
The name Wilbur was the winner! Here's his baby picture.

I have no preference for boys or girls, colors - I don't care.

LOL, Wilbur is a cutie! He actually looks like a Wilbur!! I have a
ferret with an odd name too (with apologies to all Wilburs and Gilberts
out there :-) Gilbert is 1-1/2 years old and he got his name because
he came from a place on Gilbert Road, in Gilbert, Arizona! (how
original, eh?) He's a great big huggy ole lug of a boy. He has a
little sister, Kylie, who is actually older than he is, but much
smaller. She got ECE from Gilbert (he had no symptoms and was only a
carrier :-( and almost died because she was just getting over a very
very serious reaction from a distemper shot - the two together nearly
took her from me. Anyway, now she has IBD and I have to feed her
feline I/D (turkey meat) every day instead of her eating kibble. The
turkey is supposed to be easier on little tummies that have digestive
problems and it seems to work pretty well - she eats a lot and loves
it. Gilbert joins her for 'soup' before they go to bed each evening.
Gilbert's big deal is that he is a 'pouter' and he goes to great
lengths to make me feel bad if he doesn't get his way. Here he is
'pouting' with his head underneath the mat I keep in front of the
litterbox for them to wipe their butts on when they exit the
litterbox.......how could this little face not get his way?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...se/cb00a4e0.jpg
..........and here's another 'pout'....their cage is right next to my
chair, and he did this in the front corner of the cage, butt facing me,
and fell asleep this way! (nice pout, Gilbert....and nice patootie
too! :-)

Oooh, good idea!!
We have three at the moment, and three are waiting for us at the Bridge.
I've had ferrets since August of 1996, and Jason has been with them since
July of '98. :)
I like people names for my fuzzies. They are part of the family afterall.
Hmm..I like both jills and hobs, but give me a big late neuter hob anyday
and I'm a happy girl.
I have a chocolate, a chocolate bibbed mitt, and a light silver mitt. I've
had two sables (one started off as a sable point), and another chocolate. I
would love to have an albino or DEW sometime though.
I remember my cousin had ferrets that he kept outside and we were scared of
them because he told us they bit, but I've always been a big reader when it
comes to animals and I did my research and just liked how ferrets looked.
My mom wanted me to get an iguana or a snake and I ended up with a ferret.
She thought that was better than a rat, and well now I have two of those
too. ;-)
