Hey Barb,
I wanted to let you know I have given a lot of thought to our
conversation the other day. You have my word there won't be any
further trashing or bashing on my part. Something I would like to make
you aware of and I would rather you hear it from me in case you haven't
heard it already; several people have requested membership to my board
and this was after they were banned from Cap's board. My reply to them
was they were welcome to join as long as they were NOT a member of your
board, McKabe's board or Kim's board. I am going to retract that
statement, I don't want to try to force anyone to make a choice, that
is very unfair on my part. I am doing my best to get past all this
crap and be able to trust again, it is gonna take some time on my part
but at least if I am heading in that direction that is a big step.
Also I want to go on record stating clearly that I had no first-hand
knowledge of you as a person or your shelter, just what I had been
told. I am sure you know who told me that and this person had the
backing and respect of people I trusted and respected, I had not seen
their flip side but since then I have and I realize it was a huge
mistake on my part because I got the shaft as well along with several
other people.
After we talked the other day I landed in the hospital. I had been
really sick last week with bronchitis that went into pneumonia. What I
didn't realize I was getting very dehydrated. I had an episode with my
blood pressure and combine that with the bronchitis, the pneumonia, and
the dehydration, it landed me in the hospital over night. One thing is
for dam sure, life is too short to spend it fussing and fighting and
more than anything I would love to see the ferret community pull
together, as a collective group there is no limit to what we can do for
ferrets everywhere.=20

When people are nice to me, I am nice right back but I can be as mean
and nasty as the next person. I respect people who have earned my
respect and I work to earn other people's respect that I want to know
or be acquainted with. Why should I show any of you any respect when

tribute to her too short life with us. The last thing I was asking for

I am feeling very happy right now. The lady who runs the shelter in KY
where we got Jewel, she contacted me this evening and said a little
male had been dropped in their overnight lock box at the shelter and
she ask us to take him and I told her yes. We get him tomorrow. That
shelter is not set up to accept ferrets and I am so glad we are in the
position we could say yes and give him a home.

I am very proud of my shelter, and the fact that we have done so many
rescues and adoptions. My vet bills are in the tens of thousands over
the last couple years. Yet, both of you women would try and hurt me/my
shelter. Sure, go ahead and tell this group how you both are all about
ferrets, yet attack one of the most successful shelters in the country!
There's no convincing anyone reading your crap that either of you
genuinely care about ferrets. This crap only started after I refused
an adoption to an individual incapable of producing ADV documentation
in Sept 2003...and oh gee, he's just never gotten over it.
I attended Symposium 2005 in St. Louis. It was wonderful and great.
The low point for me was doing social gatherings and APF, this group,
was brought up. I was so embarassed, but not for long. The players
names were spoken as idiots, and how well I've handled myself. Yep,
just as Karen said in another post here, "Barb's rational". Oh Lord
