Ok, I check in after three months and the back-stabbing and nastiness is
still going on. Gosh, guys, can you PLEASE remember that this is a
group about ferrets, not arguments and personalities?
And, to keep my post on topic, I lost my little Mai almost four weeks
ago to a very aggressive abdominal tumor. My vet went in (yes, I was
watching) and it was completely inoperable. We let her go. :(
Last week I got a call from someone about 180 miles from me that had
three ferrets that she had to have a home for. (No, I'm not a shelter!)
These guys have been very well-loved, up on all shots, eating a good
food, etc. They even came with three enormous bags of toys. They are
still in quarentine, but running all over my quarentine room and I'm
sure they are perfectly healthy.
There. Back to ferrets.

Actually this is a fairly recent S#*t storm that started just a week
or so ago. You came back at a most unfortunate time.

So sorry to hear about Mai. I just went through something like that a
few months ago with my Max, I told the vet not to let him come to as
I'd rather have him go peacefully rather suffer any more. You and Mai
are in my thoughts and prayers.
Congratulations on the new furkids hope they make it through
quarantine with no problems.
Best Wishes,
Pat

Dear Razz,
I'm sorry to hear about the passing of you precious Mai. They so take
a piece of our hearts when they leave us.
Well Mai, must not have wanted you to be lonely and somehow managed to
bring these three new kids to you. Kudos on quarantine, so many folks
don't. Here's to many healthy happy years with your new kids.
Affectionately,
Barb Clay

Actually, it had been pretty quiet in here until a couple weeks ago.
From what I can gather (not much), several disputes in several private
chat groups became personal and the nastiness boiled over into apf.
Nothing new to usenet, of course, but this bunch is the nymshiftiest
I've come across outside of the talk.* ngs. Even their sock puppets
have sock puppets.
As to the rest, I kind of enjoy getting to know the personalities, and
relish a spirited debate as much as anyone.

Do you have other ferrets? If not, don't bother w/ the quarantine. If
so, I wouldn't bother if the others are healthy. If you've got
something like ADV or ECE floating around (unlikely) it'll be there
for ~6 months, so letting the little buggers out of quarantine early
won't make any difference.
>Razz
Condolences on Mai, and congrats on the additions. Sometimes *good*

I am so sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose someone you
love. I congratulate you on the quarantine. It is always better to wait
to get them adv tested. I assume you have other ferrets? Just please
make sure to spray yourself down with parvocide in between playtimes
and change your clothes. I know its a pain, but its definitely worth.
Adv is a death sentence. Congratulations on your new group, it looks
like Mai wanted to make sure you didn't have any freetime on your
hands. LOL

Hehheeh. Yep, I'm well-aware of their trouble-making abilities,
especially in packs! They don't call them "busynesses" for nothing <G>

Thank you, Kim. They should be out of quarentine this weekend. The ADV
test came back negative, as I expected. These three are not kits,
but, at 2 1/2 years old, aren't that old, either. They are really
spoiled rotten (just the way they should be). They are going to fit in
just fine!
Oh, you can come live here---but ya have to bring the dopplegangers with ya.

Thank you, Millie. I miss my Mai, but she did have a good life. At
least she left me before she was in real pain.
The three newbies are doing well :)

Thank you, Barb. Yes, they do take a little piece with everyone that
leaves, but they also add so much!
The three "surprises' were just that----I had never even heard of the
gal that called me and now she has trusted me with her babies. You
would have been impressed; they came with NEW bags of food (as well as
one that was open), litter, and THREE big bags of toys. All shots
up-to-date and vet records!! <G>
Oh, and they test negative. :)

The fact that this is all fairly new is good; why don't I believe it?
<G> I love the sock puppet comment, btw.

A "spirited debate" is one thing, but this is sheer nastiness. NOT my
bag at all.

No, they aren't my only ones, Swamp. Actually, these three bring me up
to 15 right now. I have had up to 36, but that was many years ago. So,
quarentine is a fact of life here.

LOL. Yep, it's all Mai's fault! Yes, I have others and yes, I almost
soak in parvocide. I even have a litterpan with about a 1/2 inch in it
at the door to walk thru. Did you know that leather really doesn't like
parvocide? <G>

Ah, well, that changes things. I had 2 guys down w/ ECE once and it
was all I could handle. I suppose if I had 15 of them I'd be a lot
more careful about quarantine and liberal w/ the "*cides" as well.
