Do female cockatiels ever sing like the males do? I have heard that
only the males sing & talk, but is this always true? Have recently
purchased a young pearl, & am wondering as to the sex,as she/he hasn't
had the first moult yet. Thanks for any help!!

Hmmm... then I just may have to wait for the moult to see if it's a he
or a she... !! This one's only 9 weeks, and whistles pretty good...a
really pretty bright yellow & grey, w/ pale face...

Mine whistles very loudly, imitating such sounds as ambulances. I am told
that it is no use trying to teach a female cockatiel to talk, but I may
not give up on the endeavor just yet. (I am absolutely sure it is a
female, since it has laid two clutches of infertile eggs.)
