Cinnamon Sprite
Brian, you might also try the Ferret Health List for more info....

http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org/search.cgi

Just type DIM or Mystery Disease in the search box.

I hope the problem is found and able to be treated quickly. I'll be
keeping your Buster in my thoughts.

Brian, didn't you say that Dr. Charles Weiss was your vet?

Same name but not the one you are speaking about. He is on the top though.
he gives lectures about exotics and all and he treats the Philadelphia
flyers pets and such. does not make the situation better, but it is that i
know they are looking at every angle.

sutures are out so i let him walk in the living room to sniff a little (2

Oh darn. Was hoping it was. Well in any case, I'm sure he knows his stuff.
I, myself, don't know much about the mystery disease (of course I guess many
people don't or it wouldn't be called a mystery, would it?). I do know that
I'm glad it's not lympho, but at the same time I think it would be easier
(as in to figure out things to do, not easier on you Brian) if it had been.
At least you'd know what your options were and maybe a little of what to
expect. With this mystery disease how do you know? Please let us know what
goes on with Buster. This just breaks my heart.

Brian S.
Right now he has a new med and i am still feeding him. I would not call it
force feeding because he loves the taste and all. It is a little taxing on
my emotions as he has lost his sight but he is still breathing and i would
put in my last dollar in if i had too. He got the new med and i was like ok
i can pay for that now on saturday and then they said they had sent out
special work to the pathologist overnighted, which i was not aware so the 24
dollar medicine turned into 100 bucks. well worth it to see his little butt
in the morning... Just that it is disheartening that it is what it is. like
you said it isnt like ok here you have this and then do this and he will get
along at this point it is a wait and see.

i wish i could get him to get in the water (drinking). in any case i get up
whenever i can between naps and give him water and minerals and such. I
would just hope that going blind and having this he would adjust to being
under the weather so to speak. he was out for about 2 minutes and then had
enough. i can only hope to let him rest and let him explore a little each
day. thanks

brian

ps: the extra things i had done which i could always scan, would show the
extensive tests he is getting so in case someone else gets into this
experience. it is bad but it is all about learning. they all have an
interest him as well. thanks again.
