Mark & Susan:
I've been breeding Gouldian Finches for 6 years now and I've not heard
of anyone using these type of herbs for their birds. I do have a
product called "Herb Salad" that has 22 organically grown herbs for the
birds that supply healing properties. If you go to
http://www.thegouldianlady.com/shop.htm and go to the bottom of the
page the list of ingredients is in there. Thyme and garlic are on the
list and it tells what they are good for. I use this with my birds and
they LOVE it!.

I have ordered it and look forward to it getting here to us. I have one
special needs canary and two finches; an owl and a society. The owl I
adopted because he has a bowed leg. I would've paid for it, I know they're
as expensive as canaries! but the breeder just needed to find a good home.
Anyway, I anticipate using your product with my birds!

not rosemary it is poisonous for birds. You need to be careful about what
you give. Why not stick to safe stuff like chickweed and seeding grasses?

Nothing wrong with rosemary. Here is a good article, and a short quote.

Very nice. However, I wonder if finches and canaries could get into some of
these larger blooms? I've heard of birds doing this, but never people. Aw
well, you learn something new every day ...
