Opinion on Dr. Foster & Smith "Premium" blend seed mixes. - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page

Dr. Foster & Smith sell their own brand seed mixes which they advertise
as being "... the ultimate food for your hook bill"
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produ...=2003+6000+2032

They have a customer comment that says the following:
This feed is THE best cockatiel mix on the market today! My birds
love it, and I love the price! It smells pretty great too! I am now
spoiled by this product. I went to several of my local feed stores
recently and ended up walking out empty-handed rather than buy their
inferior cockatiel mixes. I now buy twenty pounds at a time - either
in the two or five pound packages - to avoid running out
unexpectedly.

They also have a good price on this stuff, my only compliant is that
what you get isn't exactly what you see on the label (I haven't seen
one of those big dried banana chunks you see in the picture and there's
quite a bit less pellete in the mix. Actually what I've recieved (on
two ocassions) when buying this product is a seed mix that looks
identical to Animal Farms LM. Cockatiel Food, available at your local
PetCo or PetSmart at about $4.00 for a 2 lb bag.

Both products cost about the same, so I'm not trying to bash Dr. Foster
& Smith for their product (well, maybe their advertisement), but this
is more to let people know who may consider buying this product through
mail order/on-line thinking they can't get something comparable
locally.
