Looking for a baby or just weaned hyacinth macaw.

I know a place in Houston, I don't know if they will ship. Cost is
about $8000, I have no idea if that's negotiable or if that's a fair
price I just remember being floored by how much they wanted.

$8,000's a fair price, you *could* find them for less, but not by much.
Hyacinths take about a year to wean, and seem to breed only every other
year. That, plus their diet (macadamian nuts in captivity, which should make
up about half their diet), and the demand for them keeps the price high.
Nice birds, real laid back.

If I was going to pay 8 K for a bird I would want to pick it up. I would be
too scared the airline would do it in and I would be out the 8 K.
