Hi all,
My girlfriend Laura has a parakeet named Abby. This morning one of his
nails looks dark, with a tiny bit of reddness where it meets the toe.
He's in generally good health otherwise, he's still active, and he
doesn't seem to be bothered by his foot at all. Laura is calling
around right now looking for an avian vet in Boulder who's open
Sundays.
Does anyone have an idea of what this might be or how serious it could
become? If we can't find an avian vet today, should we take him down to
PetSmart or some general vet immediately, or should we wait till
tomorrow to see a speciallist?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated,

Dry Creek 303 469-7387 in Westminster is a 24x7 facility. Dr. Stroberg may
not be available but there is usually a bird doctor there or on call.

Thank you so much! I'll write the address down. As for Abby, his nail
seems to have completely recovered on its own before we could have it
looked at. But Laura will be happy to know there's a 24x7 vet
available nearby.
