| My dog Moose is a mix of I do not know what. He weighs 18 pounds, is very fast, very lazy, likes to chase, doesn't retrieve very well, sweet natured. Very long legs. Chihuahua whippet maybe? I've got more photos. |

:) I can definietly see some Whippet in there, especially the ears and eyes. When he walks fast do his ears kind of fall back and almost cross, one on top of the other? Ive noticed with Whippets, Italians and Greyhounds that they seem to do this, havent really noticed it that much with other breeds although thats not to say that no other breeds do it. Is he deep chested,? walks daintily?
I think Chihauha is very possible, but also thought about a Miniature Pinscher, Manchester Terrier....maybe. Can you post a pic with his full body on it, possibly from the side?
Hes very cute. |

Thanks for your reply.
I have MANY pictures if Moose, but they are on my computer at work (I'm at home now) and most of them are too big to post! I will post one on Monday. Is there any way I can send some to you directly?
I will check out the ear thing the nect time we go for a walk. Yes, he is deep chested and walks daintily. I can see the terrier in him when he grabs his stuffed animal toys and shakes them like they are rats he wants to kill :) but he does not have the energy or tenacity of a min pin. When he is standing next to a min pin there is definitely a resemblance. Just about everyone who sees him says he MUST have chihuahua in him. A lot of people insist he has basenji in him.
I think it is possible that he comes from a LONG LINE of mixed breeds. I have seen 2 of his littermates and while they do share some common features (the ears) in many respects their appearance is quite different.
Yes, he is cute, isn't he?:D |

If you click on my profile it will allow you to send me an e-mail, I had it switched off but I changed it.
Moose definitely has the traits of a Whippet, I had one for many years (she passed away at the end of last year, she was almost 17 years old) she would chase anything that moved, would never bring anything back and talk about fast, she went after a squirrel one day and ended up part way in a tree, the tree was at an angle, its not like she went vertical or anything but she suddenly stopped and realized where she was, I had to climb up and bring her down.....crazy dog:) |
