I had mentioned the size difference in my Marshal Farms ferrets before. Now
I have a picture to show it.
The smaller one is Mooka. She's 3 years old and weighs 2 pounds. The other
one is Sid. He's 9 months old and weighs at least 5 pounds. He won't sit
still for the weigh ins. lol

LOL! They're both gorgeous! And yes there really are some large MF babies.
I've seen a few in the last three years or so. Kolby was big for awhile,
and then he dropped weight (baby fat) and has remained steady. He's solid,
er, squishy, this winter though. :) Stormy put on a little weight for
winter, but she's still a small girl. Zoe isn't a MF, but has the bulldog
body so was always a larger girl. She's dropping weight though. :( I
don't expect her to last til April. :(
Holly
p.s.
Thanks for sharing the pic! So can Mooka hold her own against Sid?

Ouch......I hate to even say this..........
I sent my computer in to have an a/c connector pin soldered that was loose.
It came back with the hard drive wiped clean.............pictures,
everything I have. :-( So, right now my computer is in the hands of some
computer hackers who are trying to recover my hard drive at the expense of
Best Buys (who did the repair). I'm actually hoping to hear from them
today as to whether or not they have been able to recover anything. If
they can't, I will be emailing friends to try to get pics I have sent here
and there and recover as much as I can that way.
I know, I should have had it backed up. The only pix I've taken for the
past few years were digital, so I'm really sad to have lost these. The pix
that I do have (whew) are just a few on PHotobucket that were taken in
January:
Here he is with a 'normal' size crocheted egg:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...eggJan20054.jpg
Notice the difference in size between him and Kylie! She's just a bit over
one pound now:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...illyJan2005.jpg
....and he's a total
nut!!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...eggJan20053.jpg
Unfortunately, unless they can recover my hard drive, I'm gonna be very
short on pix! But at least there are a few :-)
Thanks for asking.

That really sucks about your computer, Jacquie. I'd be devestated if I lost
all my pics. I guess that just reminds me to back it up!! ;-) Wow,
Gilbert is really a chunker!! He's beautiful though! As is Kylie. :) In

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully the hackers will be able to recover something

Thanks, Holly. If they do recover the pix, I do have one like yours where
I'm holding Gilbert in one hand and Kylie in the other and Gilbert actually
looks LONG instead of chubby as in the pics. The was all scrunched up
playing. He has to be the longest and biggest boned ferret I've ever seen.
Everyone who sees him says the same thing. My vet even says she's never
seen one as big as he is before. He's very very solid too. It still
amazes me how different each and every one of them is and how we always
think we can never love another one as much as the one we're holding at
that moment ;-) They are ALL sooo precious!! Kylie has changed a lot
since Gilbert has been with us - whether from the vaccine reaction followed
by the ECE (Gilbert had it when I brought him home), or just that she has a
playmate, she is soooo settled down and so much of her spunk is just
snugglebutt now. She has IBD since the ECE and I have to handfeed her I/D
feline warmed and soupy four times a day, but she is finally holding her
weight well over a pound, finally......probably about the biggest she has
been. I came so close to losing her to the ECE, I figure every extra ounce
on her is just like having insurance. The tiny ones fail soo quick when
they get sick!!
Anyway, we're all happy to be a family and still sooo happy to have
"Thunder Paw" Gilbert pounding his way thru the house :-) (he just plodded
past me with a crocheted egg in his mouth........why do they always speed up
just as they get near you? LOL, he *knows* that mom is gonna try to get it
from him!)

by the ECE (Gilbert had it when I brought him home), or just that she has a
playmate, she is soooo settled down and so much of her spunk is just
snugglebutt now.
LOL, he *knows* that mom is gonna try to get it
from him!)

Oh, Jackie. I hope that you can save some of your pictures. Maybe something
is left on the hard drive.
I just don't know what I would do if I lost all my kids pictures.
Fingers crossed.

Thanks Brian........I have a new habit I'm doing to take up - getting
printed copies of any digital photos that I have that are decent. I'll
just use the digital camera to take the pix (and maybe not all of them
anymore, either!), the computer to fine tune, then send away for prints. I
just feel sooo cheated having lost so many pix! I should hear something
today about the computer..........

Oh man, that really sucks! I'm sorry to here this.
I routinely use Norton Ghost to backup everything to an external HD.
But there was a time when I accidentally formatted both the computer
and external hard drives while messing around with the HD partitions.
Everything was gone! I was sick to my stomach, and felt like I was
having a heart attack when I figured out what happened! That HD had
years and years of pictures on it, and were very important to me. I
tried recovering the HD with any program I could get my hands on. A
couple weeks later I finally recovered it all with a program called
File Scavenger. What a relief that was! Now I backup pictures to DVDs
every once in a while in addition to the HD!
Hope everything works out! I've heard plenty of bad stories about
Best Buy "computer techs".

I have a certain morbid curiosity here. How in the ghu did they explain erasing
a hard drive to resolder a damn pin?
And how are the hackers making out?

I've heard of that. Never needed it (so far!)

Right. I backup my picture directory to CDs every few months. It just crossed
the line to where it needs two CDs to take the entire directory. I suppose I
could use DVDs (I use DVD-RW's to back up my C: drive), but the two CDs are
still half the price of a single DVD and I want to keep it to where I don't
worry about what it costs so I'll do it often enough.

Just thought I'd let ya know, that was Ruth's picture showing the long and
short ferrets. ;-) At first glance, I really wouldn't think that Gilbert
was a MF. But knowing what I know about how the last few kits I've seen
over the years have been bulky, I'm not really that surprised. I would like
to know if maybe later on he loses his bulk though. Kolby really was chubby
when he was little and now he doesn't look that big (he really bulked up for
winter though...I'll give him that much!). The big hobs have always been my
favorite, but then at the same time I love how inquisitive the tiny little
females are. You're right about thinking you'll never love another one as
much as the one you're holding at the moment. I've felt that way before
too, and then another one comes along and you can't help but be smitten all
over again. ;-) That's amazing that Kylie has changed so much from having
a playmate. I didn't realize Kylie was such a petite girl, but then maybe
that's because when you hold her up to Gilbert she looks like she can fit in
the palm of your hand!
LOL! I can just see Gilbert doing that. ;-) And why DO they do that??
Maybe they're trying to get us to take it. ;-)

Yuup...........got it back and not only is everything still gone, but it
doesn't work either......still borrowing hubby's. Arrrrgh. I *know* that
'sick to your stomach, heart attack' feeling you describe, that's for sure.
:-( I'm so angry today, now that I have it back it nothing works right (it
keeps shutting down), that I could just.........ARRRRRRRRRRGH

No good news to report here, Bill. Except they refunded the $238.00 minimum
repair fee they had charged me. (sigh) Anybody was a real nice HP
