I got the 10 year old and his cage mates on Sunday. No vaccines for years.
No adrenal surgeries. Too expensive. Their main kibble? Cheerios! They got
Kibbles & Bits dog food, sometimes.
They are eating the shelter kibble mix like crazy. Coats in horrible shape.
They smell like funky old shoes.
Long nails, fleas and ear crud! Poor babies. No baths yet. I'm trying to let
them get used to me first.
I don't think they've been help much. They do that little hop away when I
reach for them. When you hold them, the snuggle down in your arms. Gypsy
cleans my left ear every time I pick him up. Silly boy.
Here they are:
Bandit - MF, male, age 10.

Guinaver - MF, female, age 6.5
http://www.cinnamonsprite.net/hosti...er/guinaver.JPG
Gypsy - MF, male, age 3.5

Wish them luck and a good new home.

Beautiful babies. I'm sure they'll all be looking spiffy in no time,
with your care.

Thank you so much Ruth for loving and taking care of these ferts. I
know that they will ba back again to acting like wonderful & normal
ferts by the time they are ready for a Forever Home.

That's so sad, Ruth. I'm so glad that the babies are in your care now. I
just can't believe someone would think that Cheerios would do for kibble.
:( Unfortunately there are a lot of people (and I use that term loosely,
because I'm not sure they should really be considered people) that would do
the same thing with their ferret(s). I'm sure they'll come around, once
they realize that all that you offer them is good. :)
Thanks for taking them in. *hugs*

They have come around. They are big eaters. I am giving them the shelters
kibble mix. They still think my gravy is poison. I keep trying. I have to
fill up the bowl twice a day. I wouldn't believe it but their coats are
already softer. Well, what hair that they have. Vet trips on Monday!

I spill a ton of Ferretone/Linatone on top of the gravy and/or meat
and reduce each day until it's meat or pure gravy. The newbie 3 m/o
eats anything, and the 3 y/o is slowly "getting it." If he doesnt dig
in while the digging's good he eats nothing but kibble. They get it
eventually. Older transplants I'd cut more slack.
I'd never take on 6-10 y/os.

Great! Well keep trying with the gravy. Maybe eventually they'll figure
out it's good! ;-) Keep us posted on how the vet visit goes.

LOL. Thanks, I think. Hell, someone has to do it, right?
I am putting a dollop of ferretvite in the gravy, but that's all that's
getting eaten! These guys have had years to become this crafty. I have to
catch up.
