Goodbye my very special Emmy. - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
Nanny
Today I had to decide to not let Emmy wake up from an operation that was
done as a last attempt to save her life, as on top of everything that was
wrong with her the vet discovered a small inoperable tumor.
Emmy was very special to me. I met her for the first time on the day after
the evening that I had to let my cat Punk go, a cat that was very special to
me too, and the bond I got with Emmy was the same as with Punk. Their
characters were quite alike too, and sometimes it was as if Punks spirit had
gone over to Emmy.
I'll always be grateful that I had the chance to live with Emmy for the past
2˝ years, I only wish it could have been longer........

Every one was excited at the bridge. Taz didn't know what was up, so he went to
ask Valentine. If anyone would know what was going on, it would be the angels
favorite rainbow stealer.

"Hey Valentine, why is everyone running around, and looking so excited?" Taz
wondered.
Valentine smiled at Taz, who was a newcomer to the bridge. "Why Taz, Valentine
looked up at him. There's going to be a Special delivery at the bridge."
"A Special delivery?" Taz wondered at the capital letter on Special. It must be
some incredible delivery that was going to happen.
"That's right Taz, a Special delivery.", Valentine Replied.
"What kind of a delivery?" Taz wanted to know.
"A very sad, but Special delivery." Valentine told him.
"Can't you tell me any more?", asked the frustrated Taz.
"You just wait, it won't be long.", Valentine explained with a sly smile.

Taz didn't like not knowing things, so he went to ask Jasmine, if she knew
something. When he got to their hammy hideaway, Boris told Taz that Jasmine was
waiting for the Special delivery over by the rainbow. Taz, as determined as
ever to find out what he didn't know, went to find Jasmine.

When he got to the cross over point, what he saw was so incredible, that he
almost didn't believe his eyes. There were all kinds of creatures, from all the
sections of the bridge, standing and playing everywhere he looked. He was
thinking that every ferret was there,as well as some cats and dogs. He saw old
friends and new friends, and even some he hadn't met yet.

There was a glow to the rainbow, that made it seem almost alive. He spotted
Jasmine, very close to the cross over, and went to ask her about the Special
delivery. Jasmine, and all the ferrets had a soft look about their faces. Taz
sidled up to her. He looked
into her face and asked, "When's the Special delivery going to happen?"

Jasmine smiled at Taz, and then turned to watch the rainbow. The colors had
gotten vibrant and started to pulse.
"Right now.", she said quietly. Taz looked at the rainbow, and saw a long and
slinky shape come dancing through the pulsing colors. Jasmine was grinning from
ear to ear, and very gently said, "Welcome Emmy.", and hugged her close. "I see
you miss your human friend, but your fuzzy friends will love you, until they
come for you all." Emmy was hugged by all the animals, and even some angels. She
looked healthy and happy now, with a heart full of love. Her star was shining
brightly with all that shared love.

May she dance forever in your heart.

I'm so so very sorry, Nanny. How kind of you to allow her the peaceful
passing of not waking up after a surgery tho. Sometimes I think all our
heroics only lengthen their suffering. That was very brave of you to let
her go when she needed to go.

Hugs and sympathy to you at this difficult time. Sorry I missed your post
at first. I've been off newsgroups for a while and finally got them
straightened back out (whew).......but was so sorry to log on and find the
little ones who have passed on.

Yes, I can imagine what a horrible hole in your life she must have left. I
