Rico Tico
well looks like they're fixin to take Rico next week. I called it a custody
battle but that wernt a right way to put it. I knew I wuz jest keepin him
'til daughter got moved to her new place. I tried talkin her into lettin
him stay, but she said no she misses him. Now I'm gonna miss him. I guess
I'm more used to lettin things go than she is, so I'll be ok. Gma jest
keeps quiet. All the stuff I made for him, the ladders and hammock and
tubes to run from one place to nother he can have but I dunno where they
gonna put it all. Aint no basement ina mobile home. They do have a tiny
room but he's used to havn free runnin time every morning and then at night.
Daughter works alla time so he's gonna be in that little cage all day.
dadburnit.
so it's not that I want a fair-rat, any old fair-rat, I want whats best for
Rico. an if bein with his ma is best, well then ok.
so I'm sorry about sad kinda news, and I prolly won't be here much anymore
because this is all ferret group and I won't have Rico anymore to talk
about. but you folks were so nice to me so thank you and goodbye.

Awwww.......I feel for ya! But don't go. You're *still* Rico's Gpa, after
all; that good enough reason to be here.

And, who knows - maybe you'll break down & buy a friend that Rico can visit
at your house. After all, you got all that lovingly-made ferret gear now.
*Someone's* gotta use it! ;-)

They sure take a piece of your heart w/ them, don't they?

You could go to a shelter and see if they have a ferret that likes to be an
only ferret, of course ;-)
Gma was just getting used to having a ferret around, and she shouldn't stop
now.
And everything you made for Rico should be put to good use......

This is a fantastic suggestion, because finding a new home for a "loner"
can often be the most difficult, and I am sure a loner would love your
attention, as compared to being shunted off into a corner in a shelter.

You would be bringing some happiness to a little fur ball, and I get the
feeling you may enjoy it too.... :-)

Awwwwww, I'm so sad for you, Gpa. :-(( And especially sad for Rico. I
think it's pretty selfish of her to take him from you at this point. He has
obviously been incredibly loved and I can't believe she's thinking of what
is right for Rico. Maybe after she gets him to her house, she will change
her mind.......it's a possibility. It wouldn't surprise me if Rico does
what many ferrets do when they are removed from a loving home to 'other'
circumstances........I hope he doesn't stop eating or become sick, but that
would be a typical way for a ferret to protest the change. Please keep
tabs on him????

Today is sad...... :-( Hugs to you and Gma and especially to poor
little Rico, who will be by himself, when he's so used to being center of
attention.

I have to say your girl sounds selfish. Rico has a far better standard of
living with you than being shut away all day.

Thatz an idear what I thought of already, but was cut short with the
"No more rat critters in the house after he's gone" law.
I also thought of to build a special home out twixt the barn and the coop,
but
it might spook the chickens. If they quit layin it's gonna be an eggless
winter!
And that seems a bit distant since I so liked his lolly wobble when he
played
on the carpet in the house. But ya know, the church has a back parlor, and
some one is there pert near evry day with the kids, and what fun that could
be! We did have ducks once, but they wuz a mess, and Pastor sed never again
for animals in that room. He never met Rico yet either tho...hehehe.
And gosh, if I had already bringed all the fixins for the romper
room...well...gee whiz! I can just see Gma saying how cute and cuddly and
friendly he is and take good care of him and goodbye as she hands him over
to paster and scurries me out the door. Yup thanks for your inspiration
Lin TK! This sounds like the best plan since Briggits Brigade at Fort
Smith!

Rico Tico
(I lernt how to cut out unnecessary message pieces!)
(with all due respect tho)
..
> He did get a couple of smiles out of Gma, didn't he...

Yes he did ZPL! But see Gma's Ma come from a long line of Neatsmiths, and
house pets and Neatsmiths don't mix. Skooter is lucky she gits a spot but
that's because she's even older than I am, in dog years (ahem).
The idea stuck me that I can get more smiles outta Gma, more ferrets for
each other, and more edukation for the kids to raise ferrets at the church
parlor room (what was once used to hold all the stuff for the Christmas
program). Now all I gotta do is git the elders over here for Gma's slow
roast cornish hens and slim cut tater cheeze fixins with peacn pie soas we
can ok this deal.
I gotta buy off daughter tho. She might put the pin in the party hog on
this one.

Ya know I'm gettin to where I can move werds around this screen soas to make
to a whole written message that makes sense. Gma was over my shoulder and
she wanted to see what all the snorkgargle was, and I showd her how to read
message here, but some folks write atop a letter whilst other even cut in
and answer parts and some answer everything at the end. So then I found
how to do it, but don't worry none I won't change what folks say like I seen
some do (not here).
so yes Nanny everything looks to be used if my efforts are to bear fruit.
I've got plans to involve the church so God willin and Angels workin it'll
be! I'm open to suggestions on how to bribe, coherse, or otherwise persuade
daughter that this is the best move. Perhaps I could get the support of
the gongregation...oh Lord forgive me for what I am about to do!

And I hate to see anyonebody or animal alone, so now the plan I'm hatchin
has involved a move on my part to instigate not only the rescue of lonly
ferrets for the sake of edukating yunguns in raising fair-rats, but the
saving of my 150 year marriage to Gma, the return of my daughter to making
right and mature decisions, and the betterment of the church itself! Can I

Oh it ain't so bad Jumpingmouse. Things is lookin up now. Daughter is kind
of a shrimp, which makes her shelfish by nature, but she's gotta know what I
got planned is as close to heaven as he'll ever git without croakin. Folks
all wrote now with ideas and such and it sparked my bean for a whole new
approach to this problem what looks to be werkin out to be a real blessin
for evrybody. By now you mights read about the church parlor being used.
Heck, with him being able to go this new place , and daughter bein able to
evryday check on him if she wanted, and bein able to tell folks herself that
she *owns* Rico (hmmpf!) I just know this is gonna werk. And I ain't never
been so busy to answer folks! I sometimes gotta go away a while but as soon
as I get back there's a message. This is fun! But I really gotta start
callin the elders to invite them over to bribe, battle or bounce over them
to git this done. Thanks for all your kind thoughts....if Rico only
knew...maybe he does!

Well shes yung, ex WGS Hamm. And bein yung she's thinkin, talkin and
acting like I did when I wuz yung in 1904. 'course then everybody walked or
rode a horse and farmed hard all day and on and on and on, so she don't
appreciate what comes easy. Ferrets are fads for them kidz now, that's why
my hopes for moving the entire operations to a new and better place will be
an edukation for her and others.

Great new (I think). Well you sound excited about it anyway so I assume it
is great new. Still not sure I understand what is going to happen as I
cannot understand half of what you say but if it means the ferret can stay
with you, that's good news.
