| I have a very alert 12 year old female Sheltie. For the past few months we noticed that she would go around the yard squatting repeatedly as if she had to urinate. We have taken her to the vet 3-4 times treating for possible urinary tract infections or bladder infections. In the past few weeks she has started to just squat in the house and urinate a small spot;she sometimes may go for days without doing this but it's a growing problem because we can't trust her. She doesn't appear to have incontinence when she sleeps. She is now drinking more water which is something we didn't notice before. She still will squat for a few minutes when she is outside as if she thinks she needs to urinate more. As she is a special pet(visits shut-ins and is extremely gentle) we hate the thought of putting her to sleep. Any ideas??? |
