Does anyone know how common it is for a dog to die during spaying? I sold a pup to some very nice people a few months back. They took her to be spayed this week, and she died during the surgery. They said the vet gave them no cause, as the dog was healthy. I dont know if they had previous tests done at the vet, but probably so, as they were very attentative, and the dog was greatly spoiled. She was 6 and 1/2 months old.
This is the 2nd time recently that I have known of a dog dying under anthesesia, and was wondering how common this is. Everything I have searched says that is is rare, and is safer to spay and nueter. Was considering researching the vet........? |
