| I am the owner of a 2 yorkies age 11 and 8yrs, One scottish terrier at 1.5yrs and have just purchased a west highland white terrier who is now 12 weeks old. The westie is more fiesty than I am used to, when I take him for walk he will hang from the other dogs faces and nip them all the time. I order him to stop, which works for a short time. Is this just puppy antics that are new to me or is he a bullying tyke. (Any comments would be appreciated concerning Jack's behaviour). Update on the wee horror. He has mostly stopped this behaviour and only really does this when he is very excited. He is now 4.5 months old, however it is not plain sailing he now barks uncontrollably with excitement, at kids, adults and especially other dogs when out for a walk. (He has the highest pitched bark you have ever heard, it hurts your ear drums). Unfortunately I was walking him on his lead today and he barked at an off the lead springer spaniel, which took umbridge at his barking and roughed him up. At present I am ignoring the barking and keeping on walking, hope he will get over this as I can't stand and talk to people as I cannot hear what they are saying, he is also encouraging my other dogs who never did this to have a bark. (Totally embarassing).Update on the wee horror. He has mostly stopped this behaviour and only really does this when he is very excited. He is not a distructive puppy even though he is getting his new teeth. All that's left to say is that he's a great wee adorable puppy that follows me everywhere. |
