I had to take my Red lory (Daf) to the vets yesterday. He had 2 deformed
toes, one on each foot. He couldnt use them at all as they were parralized.
He had to have x-rays and a general anesthetic before they were removed. All
over in 2 hours! And it cost me £220, I couldnt believe the cost but to see
him climbing around his cage and being able to let go of the perches without
struggling it was well worth it.
The one foot is still a bit sore but he is very happy and chattering away.
I'm also glad we found a really good avian vet who doesnt live a hundred
miles away. In fact she is only ten minutes away.
Also had 2 young Speckled Mousebirds leave the nest yesterday. This is a
first for me, I feel like christmas has come early.
Take care,
Ray

A bird out the nest is worth a hundred in a bush.
