Free large cage in the NOVA/Washington DC Area - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
Peter Hesse
All,

We have upgraded our African Grey's cage to an Avian Adventures
(http://www.avianadventures.com/) cage. As a result, her old cage is
no longer being used. I hate to just throw it out, as it is in fine
shape... So, I offer it free, first-come, first-served, to whoever can
come pick it up from my home in the Herndon/Chantilly area of Northern
Virginia.

The cage is a Morton Jones cage. It is 36" Wide, 30" Deep, and 48"
High. It sits in a base with a slide-out tray and it is on casters.
(The base and casters add another 12" to the height of the cage.) It
has 1" spacing and the door is nice and big at approximately 16"x22".
A picture of the cage can be found here:
http://members.cox.net/pmhesse/cage.jpg -- but none of the toys or
perches will come with it. (We made the perches from dowels bought at
Home Depot.) It does have a shelf, 12" x 36" which will come with the
cage. It will just need a good cleaning before you use it. Our bird
is completely healthy--our Vet boards the bird when we travel, and she
gets a full checkup and blood test once every two years to ensure the
safety of the other boarded birds.

Currently, cage has been minimally deconstructed and folded to get it
out of the house and into the garage. The base, tray, and top of the
cage have been removed. The bottom has folded into the cage, and the
rest of the cage is folded flat; so, the cage currently is 66" x 48",
and relatively flat.

I'm going to toss it on December 11th if I haven't had any takers.
So, act fast!

Requests for the cage can be made to my email address,
pmhesse(at)hotmail.com. Please put "bird cage" as the subject of your
email. As I said before, first come, first served.

It's gone! Thanks to those that were interested. I highly recommend
the Avian Adventures (http://www.avianadventures.com) cages if you're
still looking for one!
