Hiya all,
Well Poppet is still fighting and looks like she's going to pull through.
The Vet's were astounded that she actually pulled through (all 4 of them and
a couple of Nurses came in to see her yesterday, I think she's becoming a
Celebrity there!) She had some more Antibiotic injections (and actually put
up a bit of a fight!) and after a restful night and a good breakfast of her
favourite 'sludge' sounds horrible but she always likes it
(grape/apple/carrot/chicken/egg in a mush... eugh!) she popped out of her
cage for a little wander to the top (she likes to think she's the ruler of
all she surveys, and probably is.. LOL). My Wife even caught her stomping
around in her bath and now she's happily perched (still hasn't fallen off
again thankfully) alternating between dozing and watching 'Animal Planet'
(yes, you guessed it her favourite programme):-)
She's even been 'cleaning' her beak (worse than nails down a blackboard!!)
and is definitely more alert than she has been in the past 48 hours. She's
been chewing a millet stalk back and forth...... back and forth, but passed
on the offer of any millet (personally I don't blame her, as she very rarely
actually eats it anyway).
I hate to sound jealous but she's actually getting get-well cards from our
friends(postman thought it was my birthday this morning!!), and to date more
than I did after a knee-op!! And I just thought we were soppy about her :-)
Anyways, time for Her Lunch, if you Guys think this is boring then please
tell me to stop, oh and BTW Molly I tried to email you with some info on my
Guys but your email addy is non-deliverable, so if you have another email
addy, email it to me please? :-)
Thanks again for all your best wishes
TTFN
Ian
PS. seems like a certain somebody is being constantly shot down in flames!!
Oh Dear!!! LOL, by the time we've finished with 'him' he'll be Phil
Quarterskin....maybe!! or at the least require extreme Psychological
Treatment (if he doesn't already??) HAHA

remove the 1 to reply to me Ian.
Really glad she is getting better. There is something about lovies that just
endears them to you isn't there? I have one called 'tickle' who ignores me
apart from swearing at me if I go near his cage, but I love him to bits. Ray
gave him to me:o) Fanks Ray.

Ian,
I don't know about everyone else here (but I think most will agree) that
the news of your success with Poppet is well worth reading. As it shows how
strong the will to live can be.
Even in something as small and "insignificant" (NOT that we bird owners
would consider our "children" insignificant) as a bird, can be. And though
I hope we never find ourselves in the same situation it does give us hope
that we and our "children" will pull through as well.
As well as the need for seeing a vet on a regular basis.
SO please keep us up-to-date on Poppet's progress.
Herman
