Never put a lovebird in the same cage as a different species. What you heard
is true in the majority of cases. My parrotlet has permanent foot damage as
a result of a lovebird attack (this happened before I got him).

Very BAD idea. LB's are extremely aggressive, Tiles tend to be very easy
going around other birds. The LB's tend to attack, and will go for the feet
of the other bird instead of beak sparing. They are trying to do some real
damage, and in a cage where it can't get away a Tiel would not have a
chance.

Yes, a friend of mine did this by accident. The lovebirds were hiding under
their paper, it was dark, and she thought it was the tiels' cage. The
result was some very bloody cockatiels, minus a few toes. Fortunately, they
survived.

I had my lovebird (Spaz) share his space with our cockatiel (Schne) and they
got along fine, they were weaned about the same time and were buds... but I
can see by the posts here that this was an exception to the rule... so I
think you probably don't want to do it!
