i was out putting petrol in the car for this week, and returned home to find
that the pair of lovy dovy birds (Lovebirds) now have an egg at the bottom
of their cage, help whaaa, wha'do i do?

You don't have to do anything. If you want babies leave it be, if you don't
take it out, boil or blow it, and put it back, do the same with any more
that appear. Do you know if they are a true pair?Oh, and provide the hens
with a calcium supplement. Cuttlefish bone is not enough. I get mine from
www.robharvey.com. I use nutrobal or avical. Lack of calcium can cause egg
binding which is almost always fatal.
