Not for lovebirds. They are generally for the small insectivorous finches
and softbills.

I'm raising fruit flies!! I dont want to but they are in my birdroom. I keep
a lot of Softbills and a few nectar feeders. Fruit flies will breed on the
smallest peice of fruit!! Banana skins are the best if you do want to breed
them.

I have raised wingless fruit flies for Dart Poison Frogs. They are bred to
be wingless and are easier to manage that way. It is not hard. You can buy
them on line with a powder that can be mixed with water for a culture
medium. The only trouble is that mold will also grow in the culture if your
not super careful and then the culture has to be distroyed. The frogs I had
ate them because they only eat small insects and were not big enough to eat
a housefly. The company that sells the fruitflies also sells wingless
houseflies which might be better for birds that eat insects. Anyway check
Google for lots of suppliers and recipes for culture medium. Depending on
where you live, insects of various types may be illegal.
Good luck.

OK, wait--if these things are wingless, shouldn't they be called
