For the last week I have been spoonfeeding a little baby woodpigeon. A
farmer moved his straw bales and the nest fell out. It contained 2 pink and
naked babies. One died within 24 hours, but the other is fine.
I have named it simple simon cos it really is the stupidest bird ever.It is
a novel experience as he wants his crop filled to bursting every 2 hours.
Kudos to the farmer for bringing it to me though as they are classed as a
pest species over here, and others would have trodden on the babies.
Must take some photos.

Hi Pam ,
It was good of the farmer to do that, I'm surprised he didn't
destroy him . What will you do with him when he is older?

He will be set free to fly with the rest of my pigeons eventually. They sit
on my roof, roost in the trees and come down to be fed every morning with
the hens. It is a motley flock composed of woodies, white doves and ex
racing pigeons..
