In L.A., the local news carried a story about the above exotic pet store
and a fire that gutted the place. From what I could tell, the first
people on the scene were able to rescue the larger birds, but one
fireman came out with a cage of dead finches. :(
What a serious shame. It looked like one of those stores that would be
amazing to visit. It's definitely had its share of Hollywood stories!

I don't believe it. This is the store where we bought our little Shlomo, not
to mention food and other goodies for our fids.
