Hello everyone
I have a problem with my tiels.
I've had a couple of tiels for a year. They were doing fine together
althought my mal is extremely territorial and agressive. I tamed him a lot,
but now, he's becoming a real problem.
A friend gave me his couple of tiels and their cage cause he couldn't take
care of them anymore.
I've taken them with pleasure. It's been a week now.
My other male is become more and more agressive toward the other tiels. He
attacks them all the time, beats them in fight an on ground, bites, screams
at them, he has taken possession of their cage, they can't get to it anymore
.... The cage is 12 feet apart... The poor tiels are traumatised...
I've tried holding him, staining him to his cage, vocal punishment, chasin
him, screaming. Nothing does.
I am considering clipping his wing to give the other tiels an advantage...
He becoming even more agressive toward his mate...
BTW, would it help if i offered him a nest??? If i canged them rooms? what
is there to do? I mostly want Rufus (the eldest) to straighten out. His
Alpha temper is becoming unbearable anyway - he jumps on my head an pikeres
aggressively my head, etc etc. This attitude has got to stop.
I am hopeless... Please help
Thanx in advance
A person who always have had excellent relation with her birds

Nathalie,
Definitely stop screaming at him or doing anything aggressive.
I think giving him a nest box would make things many times worse.
I strongly suggest clipping his wings or keeping him caged for
a while. Clipping might be the lesser of those two evils. If
you do that, make sure that the others do not take advantage
of him. You should not let all four out at the same time. Only
let the first pair out to play, then later put them back and
let the others out.
Good luck,
