Roofing, tar fumes? - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
Heidi
Hello. My neighbors informed me yesterday that they are going to be re-doing
their roof. I have a CAG. Need I be concerned about the fumes from the tar?

My next-door neighbors - the ones on the bird-room side of the house - redid
their roof last year and the only problem was that the birds went postal
when they saw them up there. It was a 3-day job and I just kept the
curtains closed. There was no hot tar or other smelly stuff involved, it
was just tearing down to the board and repapers/shingling it. (I live in an
urban area and houses are approx. 15' apart here.)

keep the widows closed on that side of the house while they are working and
you should be fine.
