I know have Doxy for Magic, my budgie. It's in tablet form and I'm
supposed to crush it and add it to drinking water.
My question is, the bird is sitting still feeling poorly, he doesn't want
to drink the water. If I was to administer the solution via his beak I'd
need to know I wasn't overfilling him with water.
How much does a budgie commonly drink per day? Can't seem to find out via
the web.

Bex,
Like someone else already said, the best method of ensuring
a proper dosage of liquid medicine is with a crop tube.
Second best is the syringe - I always get most of the medicine
in with a syringe. Budgies can go for a long time without
drinking water - maybe days - if the water tastes bad.
If the dose if about .5ml or less, I use a syringe. Once I had a
medication that I had to give 1.5ml so I used the crop tube.
The vet has to show you how to use it and hopefully you can
buy one from the vet. Otherwise you have to order one. I
used to get them from Hornbeck's but they are out of biz.

I use a length of bicycle valve tubing on the tip of a syringe.
Costs next to nothing and works as well as any tube.

I don't want to use a crop tube, I want to keep him as calm as possible and
he doesn't really mind the syringe...it's just a bit of a wriggle and in it
goes. I just want to ensure that he's getting enough fluids with the Doxy
in until he's happier about drinking again. I think the nasty Baytril has
put him off his water a little. He hated it and suspects it's still in the
water.

I've never seen a bird finish its water in one day; not even a pair of birds
caged together; not even if they take a bath in it. I'm talking about an
appropriately sized water dish for the cage.
I can't quite relate to the .2ml measurement without drawing it up and
looking at it. But, if you can get your bird to take the medicated water
this way, do it. Don't be afraid of giving too much. If the bird doesn't
want it he will just shake it out of his beak as long as you are slowly and
gently giving it so as not to aspirate him.
