I hear that it's possible to get lice from store bought bedding. I also
hear that some people freeze the bedding before use to prevent this. My
question is whether Carefresh is a possible problem or is this referring to
other types? I'd appreciate any info. - Jo

I've had a lice incident where Carefresh was about the only possible
vector. Either that, or I brought it in on my clothing, but I hadn't
been handling any other rats.

I have never used Carefresh but I do use Megazorb which is a horse bedding
it is quite a good floor covering as it has very little dust and is heat
treated 3 times to get rid of any critters. You can get a great big bag for
£5.80 usually from a stables. You can order on line at www.Megazorb.co.uk
but I think they only deliver in pallets so it is expensive that way.
