I have 2 rats, they are sisters and have always been together,
one of my ratties isnt looking too healthy with possible brain tumors or
strokes.
if this rattie doesnt make it im wondering what will happen to my healthy
rat.
will she get loanly and die, or is that just a rumor?
shes very sociable rat, but they do pine for each other if seperated

The way rats grieve is individual, just like their personalities.
I have had rats who have done very poorly when their sibling/cagemate
has passed away, but then I have had others that have bounced back.
Those that have bounced back the quickest have had other cagemates,
though. They really are very social animals, so I think they take it
harder if they are left alone.
How old are your girls? Is it an option to get two young rats to keep
her company?

They are about 2 years old, But im tempted to buy another rat but am in the
process of moving towns, so im going to hold off...
although i did see this lovely black rat in the petshop last week,
unfortunetly the petshop lady said they are in a high demand for rats for
snakes at the moment due to winter :-(
not good hearing that..
