Well, my family and I have been very busy with ratties coming out of our
ears this weekend. lol
First of all, there's been this sweet little rat at Petsmart, I've been
keeping an eye on her and hoping someone was going to adopt her but she
had been alone for quite some time now, 2 months in fact. Finally my mom
and dad couldn't stand it anymore, she's been the topic of conversation
at our Friday family lunches and so mom asked the sales clerk what's up
with that one. The young lady says: oh, that one is gone wild now and we
can't sell her to anyone inexperienced. She got loose a while back for
almost a week. We had to dismantle the whole small animal display
cases/habitats to try and yank her out. She even found her way into the
bird cage and almost killed a bird. (the bird survived thanks to my vet,
the only exotic vet in our city)
My mom asked to check her out and she said, oh no, she will just bite
you and claw at your face. So my mom simply said, I'll take her. No
sooner is Noogie home (named by my sister who is her new mom) my mom
takes this sweet extremely scared little girl and starts to belly kiss
her. Oh what a wild savage beast she is...trembling and loving the soft
pets on her head. They figure she's almost 4 months old, been at the
Petsmart since she's 4 weeks old, poor little girl. She will need lots
of socialization.
Then, Nicole (my sister) calls me telling me to check out our local pet
listings in the Bargain Hunter. There's a young girl that has to rehome
her rats. I call for information and as it turns out, she broke off with
her bf and has to move.
So mom and I go and check out the girls. They are super friendly, very
healthy but kept in horrid conditions. The cage stunk so bad, we
couldn't stand it. So I said, yep, they are coming home with me. At
first, I didn't know who was going to take the girls, if I would rehome
them or not. But in the end, we fell in love with these beauties. And to
add icing on the cake, there's a pew in the four... I've been wanting a
pew since I lost Milo a while back. The young lady told us their names
but she run it off so fast, mom and I could only remember a couple of
them. It was obvious these girls didn't know their names either so they
have been renamed but it's also quite obvious, although kept in the
worst dirty cage ever, these girls were loved. They are super friendly
and not scared in the least.
Puce, French for flea will be living with my mom. She's 8 months old.
She bruxes and boggles if you just so happen to say hi to her. She loves
people. She's a chocolate berk.
Next is Coco, she is 10 months old and will be living with my mom, she's
a blue beige hooded teddy rex. If you pet her head, she will just close
her eyes and fall asleep.
Coco's sister is Red. She's 10 months old and is a blue fawn berk teddy
rex. She's super gorgeous! She's always at the door or hanging off the
cage bars waiting for someone to open the door for her. She's the alpha
but a real lady.
Then there's 6 months old Lollypop. She's my PEW!! She's also dumbo and
a real people rat. She loves to have us talk to her. She's the mischief
maker in the cage, always bothering the other rats just to have them put
her in her place. I think she's going to be another Ness. I plan on
having her live with the two new babies I will be getting soon. I think
she will be a good mother for the babies as she is outgoing and playful.
(all girls will be spayed and treated for buggies because those girls
are itchy!!)
I will soon put up pics in my webshots!

Not a whole lot I can say other YaHOO! They all sound so wonderful and put

Enjoy all the new ones, they are so lucky to have you and your family.,

What a lovely, heart-warming story. How lucky those wee ratties are to have
found you and your family. It must be wonderful being part of your family -
you all have such big hearts and are all so rat savvy!

Beautiful girls. Noogie looks like my recently departed Smartie...I'm
talking "might as well be a clone". So much in fact, I started getting
choked up just looking at her and had to leave, heh heh. Did I say that out
loud? I meant, er...Hmpph! Cute rats [puffs chest and holds arms
out)...gotta go change my transmission.
You've got some cool looking rats there Joanne...and I already know they're
lucky too.
