BEWARE WATCH BIRD LOL!! - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page

My BCC was giving his full blown ALERT, like the UPS truck is here, or
someone is at the door for at least 10 minuets. I kept running out to the
living room to see what the hell was there, and nothing. After about the 5th
time I finally saw it. A neighbor several houses down was getting a new
roof. They were positioning the boom to deliver the materials. Every time
they would move the boom, Max would let go. Nothing gets by Max <G>

Don't you feel safer now? LOL Two of my birds BARK when they hear anything
unusual! It's a little disconcerting, but if anyone ever tries to break
into the bird room they may just get a surprise. <woof!>

Alex,

I think watch birdies are great. My Lizzie also alerts me
to anything really strange outside like a stray cat on our
deck or a strange person!!!! It's fun when some soliciter
comes to the door and my dog lets go and the bird starts
shrieking. I feel much safer.

I've got watch birdies, too! Only mine watch things I can't see,
evidently things like microscopic bacteria wandering around on the
sofa. The birds will stare fixedly at the same spot for long minutes
on end, then look at me as if to confirm that I'm seeing it, too.

Of course, when a real human comes along (to empty trash or work on
the house) all hell breaks loose! I've heard my birds from the
outside and if I were a burgler I'd be very hesitant about entering
the premises. ;-)

LOL,
He has always had a thing about anything tall for some reason. Any time
the phone or cable people come and work on the pole across the street I have
to close the curtain, so he can't get on his window perch. He will go nuts,
every time they move the ladder, or bucket truck, or climb up. A couple
times he has let go like that and the Macaw will flop down to the floor
because of the alarm. Funny little bird.
