Hello,
My dog started vomitting last night she saw the vet this morning. He was unsure if it was a virus or if she had eaten something she shouldn't as she is only eleven months. She had an antibotic injection and we have an appointment in the morning. As he advised we tried her with some chicken this evening and unfortunately it started her vomiting off. my main worry is she hasn't drunk anything all day and is vomiting. I am worried she will become dehydrated which I have read can be serious. I was just wondering how long she can go without water before I need to really woory and possibly call the emergancy vet out anyone know?

I would not wait until she is dehydrated, if you can get your hands on a plastic syringe, hold her mouth open squirt some cool not cold water in a little at a time holding her hed up so that it goes down. Dogs drink alot during their day and need water, i wouldnt worry to much for up to 3/4 days about food as in humans it is better that she has an empty stomach than to keep throwing up or having the runs. The water should flush out the problem then a little white rice is bland and easy to digest. She should be better in a couple of days . good luck
