Quasimodo and the Christmas tree - CLICK HERE for the Pet Manual Forum Home Page
William J. Leary Jr.
Each year we put up our Christmas tree and Quasimodo does "Flying Ferret" and
leaps into the tree from a nearby table or couch, then scrabbles all the way
down, catching each branch just long enough to slow his descent, until he plops
onto the floor. I've always wanted to get a picture of it, and always forget
to have a camera handy.

This year I remembered. Put up the tree in the evening, put it in it's corner,
and let them all out. All four of them walked or ran over to investigate. Ran
around under it, drank it's water (we don't put any tree-food in the water
because of this) then went off to play. Except Quasimodo.

He climbed the couch, looked over the tree... and walked into it. It's so
close to the couch, he could just step off the couch and into the tree. He
seemed very pleased with himself. Climbed up a few branches, down a few,
around the trunk a couple of times, and walked back out onto the couch. Walked
a couple of feet away, looked back at the tree, looked at me, and went off to
play with the others. This is the ferret who can't stand near the edge of a
couch without falling off half the time, and he did all this without slipping
once (that I could see, anyway).

Maybe next year.
